WHAT EVERY MOM SHOULD KNOW:
YOUR CHILD CAN LEARN TO READ
IN ONLY 3 TO 6 MONTHS…STARTING FROM SCRATCH!

Dear Mom,
Having a child with reading problems can be a frightening and frustrating experience. Be assured that you and your child are not alone. Take a look at the following sober statistics:
- About 10 million children in the U.S. have reading problems.
- By the 4th grade, about 66% of children are reading below grade level. About 33% of these kids are reading at or below a 2nd grade reading level.
- By the 8th grade, about 70% of students are poor readers.
- Today, in the U.S., about 22% of the adult population are functionally illiterate!
Perhaps even more alarming are the outcomes of reading problems for many children. The following statistics are shocking, sad, and frightening, especially when solutions for reading problems are available.
- About 10-15% of children with reading problems will drop out of high school.
- Only 2% of children with reading problems will complete a college education.
- Individuals with reading problems live in poverty at much higher rates than those who read proficiently.
- About 50% of adolescents with criminal records and 50% of kids who are substance abusers have reading problems.
I know this is not what you want to hear. I understand that these statistics are shocking, but what is more shocking is that research in the last decade has shown us beyond a shadow of a doubt how to teach children to read.
It seems incredible…but your child can’t help but learn to read…
IF the right program is used!
Yes, you read that right. It’s practically impossible for your child NOT to learn to read if the correct program is used.
We now know that the brains of children with reading problems are different. Medical research has recently shown that individuals who have troubling reading have unique brain scans. These brain scans reveal that reading difficulties are associated with a relative inability to work with phonemes (sounds) in the language.
As it turns out, research in reading has ALSO shown us that kids who have trouble reading, just don’t seem to be able to work with phonemes too well.
What’s more…20-40% of all children have trouble with the sounds of language. Now that’s a lot of kids, wouldn’t you say? And this is why we have so many children (and adults) with reading problems!
“Doesn’t my child’s school use the right program?”
Wow. That’s a loaded question, but since you asked, I’m going to tell you the truth. Well, actually, I’m going to let Diane McGuinness, renowned expert in reading instruction, tell you the truth. Way back in 1997, she said, “The truth…is that children’s reading problems are caused by the school system, and not because there is something wrong with poor readers [emphasis in the original].”
Now you see why I let someone else tell you the truth. That’s startling, right? But here’s the reason. Most schools are using what is known as a whole language/literature-based reading program.
When my children were in kindergarten, they kept a journal. In this journal, they wrote cute and wonderful little things and they just guessed at the correct spelling of the words. The idea was to immerse the children in language, and reading and spelling would happen naturally.
Ooops. Wrong. Interestingly, my daughter learned to read quite easily. Today she can read a 500 page book in about 5 hours! My son, on the other hand, could not learn to read. He attended the exact same Kindergarten as my daughter – same classroom, same teachers.
By January of that school year, he was telling me he couldn’t do the work. When I talked with his teachers, they said he was a smart boy and was doing fine. I was scratching my head. I finally figured out that he was having trouble reading! I took him out of public school and began homeschooling him. We used the right kind of reading program, and he was reading at grade level within 6 months. Today, at age 10, his favorite books are the Poppy series. He’s read them all and wishes there were more!
You see, my son was one of those 20-40% who have trouble processing sounds of the language. But not anymore.
“So, what kind of program is the RIGHT program?”
I’m glad you asked because this is something that ALL Moms (and Dads) should know. The National Right to Read Foundation recommends that reading programs contain the following components:
- All five short-vowel sounds should be taught in isolation before any whole words are introduced.
- All consonant sounds should be taught in isolation before whole words using those sounds are introduced.
- At least one short vowel sound and several consonant sounds should be taught in isolation before whole words using those sounds are introduced.
- During the first grade, all 44 sounds in the English language and the 70 most common ways of spelling those sounds should be taught in isolation.
- Students should be taught to blend and read each letter in each word from left to right.
- Reading selections should only use the sounds and rules already taught so that the student can decode each word without guessing.
The BrightHouse Comprehensive Reading Program
uses proven techniques to Help Your Child Learn to Read…
Guaranteed!
Yes, indeed, my program contains ALL of the components recommended by the National Right to Read Foundation, and MORE.
First, ANYONE at ANY AGE (beginning at about age 5 or 6) can use this program and learn to read.
Second, remember those brain differences that have shown up on brain scans? My program is an intensive one-on-one, sound-to-code program that uses unique techniques designed to make neurological changes FAST. What this means is that your child WILL be able to work easily with phonemes because his brain will be trained to do so!!
“How can your program work so quickly?”
Research has shown that for neurological changes to take place, students must participate in the program 4-5 hours per week for at least 3 months. The BrightHouse Comprehensive Reading Program is set up in just this way – 4-5 hours per week for 3 to 6 months.
But that’s not all! My program addresses auditory processing problems which are so often involved in reading problems. If your child has trouble processing the sounds of language, he can be greatly helped by learning to listen to himself as he learns the sounds of the language. My program includes a handy little device that will help your child hear himself well – possibly for the very first time in his life!
There’s more! My program uses rhythm and music in a very distinctive way to make learning the sounds of language quick and easy. Before I became a child therapist and educator, I was a professional musician. I have used my understanding of rhythm and music, along with research in this area, to enhance my reading program in exciting ways! (I can hardly wait for your child to experience it!)
“My child has had lots of ear infections.
I’ve wondered if that’s why he finds it hard to read.”
“Is there a connection?
Does your program address this issue?”
Yes and double yes! Did you know that a huge percentage of kids with reading problems, when they were babies/toddlers, had multiple ear infections, multiple courses of antibiotics, tubes in the ears, and allergies? Many of these children, teens, and even adults continue to be plagued with allergies. What does this have to do with reading problems? EVERYTHING!!! Read on.
We are all born neurologically immature. Our brains require stimulation to grow, make connections, and mature. Our brains receive this stimulation through the senses, i.e. via information coming in through the eyes (sight), ears (sound), nose (smell), skin (touch) and mouth (taste). Without this sensorial stimulation, the brain cannot grow and mature. For example, if an infant were left in a completely darkened room, after some time, this child would be blind Why? Because the sight portion of the brain would have no stimulation, nothing to make it “grow.”
So, let me ask you something. What happens if a child has multiple ear infections? Do the sounds in this child’s environment get through easily and perfectly to his developing brain? Probably not. And if not, the brain cannot mature to its full capacity for processing sound, right?! (This isn’t rocket science!)
Now here’s the kicker! (I get so excited about this stuff!) Research has shown – without a doubt – that the brain can change and grow for as long as we live! What’s more, a child’s brain is still REALLY easy to train – even if he missed out on crucial processing of sounds during his first few years of life!
The word is PLASTICITY, brain plasticity, and you are going to LOVE this word when you see what a difference it can make in your child’s life.
The BrightHouse Comprehensive Reading Program will help your child’s neurological system to process the sounds of language at an automatic level. We just go back to square one and give the neurological system what it missed out on because of those ear infections.
How do allergies fit in? Have you ever had a reaction to pollen…your head ached, your eyes were pouring, your nose was draining…? Could you think very well during that allergic reaction? Some kids have a chronic version of an “allergic reaction,” an ongoing cascade of yucky symptoms. In fact, many of the kids I’ve worked with are on Zyrtec year-round! Some kids also have food allergies that can cause other kinds of symptoms (stomach aches, diarrhea, constipation, etc.).
How do allergies hinder learning? Allergies occur when the immune system responds to what it views as an unwanted invader. This immunological response is what kicks up all those nasty symptoms. But here’s the thing: the immunological and neurological systems are interwoven and interrelated in so many ways that it’s hard to actually separate them! Allergic reactions cause not only immunological responses but neurological responses as well! Briefly said, allergies are like “neurological disruptors.”
So, of course, the BrightHouse Comprehensive Learning Program addresses allergies because they are so prevalent among kids who are having learning problems! I have included in your kit my "Special Report: Nutrition, Allergies, & Learning." It will provide all the information you need to identify your child's allergens as well as a simple, inexpensive, side-effects-free way to "neutralize" the allergens.
This means “no more neurological disruptors” for your child. This frees up the entire neurological system to focus on reading instead of fighting off allergens!
Just imagine…Your child reading 3 to 6 months from now!
What kind of difference will that make in your child’s life?
What kind of difference will that make in YOUR life?

-
In a nutshell, PEACE OF MIND
“OK, I’m interested! What exactly do I get?”
I happen to feel very strongly about empowering Moms (and Dads, too). I’ve developed this reading program so that a parent, family member, or friend can act as the “trainer” for your child.
I happen to also feel strongly about flexibility. I’ve developed the program so that, if you choose, you can have a tutor work with your child in a convenient location such as your home or a nearby public library.
Which is best? Only you know! But I’ll be happy to talk with you and help you decide.

Here’s what you get in the kit:
- A complete, easy-to-follow, step-by-step training manual with a built-in motivational reward system
- Music CD to use with procedures
- Metronome
- Stopwatch
- 6" ruler and a reading transparency
- Ball
- Book on learning to reading
- A unique device for learning to hear oneself (as my daughter says, “It rocks out loud!”)
- Complete set of phonics cards
- Special Report: Nutrition, Allergies, & Learning
“What if I don’t have enough time to do this with my child?”
Believe me, I KNOW how BUSY you are! So, I have a solution for you – tutors, personally trained by me, who can meet with your child at a convenient location such as your home, church, or the public library.
If you decide that you simply don’t have enough time in the day to work this program with your child, don’t worry. I’ve got that covered, too. I have access to a national tutoring service and can find the perfect certified tutor for your child. Your tutor can then attend the training for FREE, and you’re good to go.
The tutoring rate is typically around $40 per hour (depending on your geographical location). And another benefit to you: I have discount packages that can reduce the hourly rate substantially.
After you’ve purchased your kit, I’ll send you the names of several tutors in your area. Talk to them and see which one is the best fit. Then send them to my FREE training! (All tutors are certified via testing and have had background checks, so you can feel confident and safe.)
For families who live in Upstate South Carolina, I have tutors ready and excited to work with your child. I have hand picked and personally trained each upstate tutor for the BrightHouse Comprehensive Reading Program. A tutor can come to you, or you can bring your child to our Anderson office. Aren't you lucky?!
“OK, Here’s the Big Question…
Is this program going to break the bank?”
Nope. I love this part because I know you’re thinking that a program like this is going to cost at least $500. No way. I know that many parents simply can’t afford to pay that kind of money, so I’ve worked very hard to bring you a program that’s affordable.
I’ve also worked hard to make this program accessible. That means that it can be done at home, at school, at the library. You can even take this program with you on vacation. Do it in the car on your way to the beach! It’s FUN! And keep in mind that any adult reading this page can feel comfortable playing the trainer’s role with this program.
$297 for the entire kit
That’s it – for a program that can teach your child to read…
quickly and easily!
